Le Col and Cancellara join forces to create a new collection

Ask any cycling fan who the greatest cyclists of the past 20 years are and you’re bound to hear the name ‘Fabian Cancellara’. The Swiss rider has won seven monuments, two Olympic gold medals, four rainbow jerseys and donned the yellow jersey in the Tour de France no less than 29 times.

Le Col, the clothing partner of Cancellara’s eponymous “Chasing Cancellara” racing series, has just released a capsule collection in homage and in collaboration with him.

What’s in the collection?

The Le Col Fabian Cancellara collection includes two jerseys and two shorts, as well as socks and a cap, all sold separately. For those looking for pure speed, there’s the Pro Aero jersey, with design hints taken from the Leopard Trek team kit of yesteryear as well as the Swiss National Champions kit, which is a big plus. We have yet to test it to see if it will make it to our list of best cycling jerseys, but this is for sure an aero jersey so expect a snug fit, shorter front and arms longer if you opt for the male or female version. To match are the Pro Bib Shorts, which are more subtle in design with pops of color on the base of each leg dart.

If speed isn’t your ultimate goal, if you’re looking for a bit more comfort, or just want a mostly black jersey, there’s the Sport Jersey, with the same design feel but a bit more dark blue of the Fabian’s debut. in Fassa Bortolo. Designed more for training and longer days, it won’t be as tight, with a more relaxed fit and a longer front panel. The Sport Bibs are visually identical to the Pro model, but are less suitable for racing. The Pro aims for a compression fit like most top cycling shorts, with the Sport being less snug.

If you lack motivation before your rides, each jersey features Cancellara’s track record on one pocket (just the highlights, otherwise the pocket would be huge), and a Spartan helmet on another to match his Spartacus moniker. If you want to go completely matchy-matchy, there’s a pair of socks and a cotton cap that more closely mirrors the design of the Sport jersey; mostly black, with flashes of red, white, turquoise and navy blue.
